Cubbies

The kids have been having fun with cubbies lately, and a favourite one has been outside over the climbing frame. When an idea captures Dom's imagination, he becomes like a bowerbird, gathering all sorts of related things for it, and building on it until it sometimes threatens to overtake whatever part of the house it is in.

The kids had lots of fun with this, setting up a garden, bringing their musical instruments down to it and enticing Claire into the cubbie which was accompanied by shrieks of excitement (just about enough to make her turn around again and escape!). Claire enjoyed the soft cushions to clamber over and different spaces - as well as flowers and potting mix and apparently a bit of wallaby poo from the lawn!
